Connecting Samsung Frame TV S800B Subwoofer & Soundbar

The new Frame TV from Samsung has its own built-in speaker but is still ideally paired with the light weight but effective Samsung S800B sound-bar – preferably connected to the Frame’s separate Connect Box by HDMI cable in port 3 (eARC) with a micro HDMI connector at the other end of that cable. That connector needs to be gently inserted into the receptacle for it at the back of the sound-bar.

That sound-bar also comes with its own separate subwoofer for better bass if placed on the floor. That should connect automatically to the sound-bar on a closed or private Bluetooth frequency if it is all powered on in the right sequence… or not?

You can tell if it is not connected as the S800B’s Subwoofer has a blue neon above its power plug that should be steady if connected, blinking if trying to connect, or even red or off if not.

The first step to manually initiating a connection once the subwoofer is powered on is to hold down the ID SET button on the subwoofer for five seconds to start the LINK / STANDBY neon blinking blue. Next tap the soft button, an open circle, on top of the sound-bar until it annunciates aloud “Bluetooth”.

Then, using the miniature black infrared remote, which hopefully came with the sound-bar, from very close up, point it at the centre of the front of the sound-bar while pressing down the top of the circular direction bar on the miniature black remote until the blinking blue light becomes steady and subwoofer sound can be clearly heard when it has a bass component.

For optimum sound, ensure in All Settings you have the sound source selected to TV + Soundbar S800B(HDMI)
