Airliner EPIRBS

It may be shutting the gate after the horse has bolted, but given the massive international expenditure on searching for downed airliner MH370 and earlier AF447, surely it would be cost effective to put an EPIRB or two in the tail assembly alongside the data logger and cockpit voice recorders in each and every airliner in the skies now. No systems integration necessary. Remember the airliner brought down intact on the Hudson River with no lives lost – it is possible. A network of satellites accurately detect & report the position of these devices whenever activated.
