PayPal Chip Credit Cards.

My bank is issuing all new and replacement credit cards with an RF chip and PayPal enabled! They do NOT tell you in the accompanying letter that you need no longer enter your PIN for purchases under $35 when you stick it into the reader or for purchases up to $100 if you wave it by the Paypal glass. I can not change those thresholds! This means if you loose the card or fall victim to a pickpocket, then they could quickly rip off a lot of money with multiple transactions. Even travel cards for use overseas will be getting this! Another issue is that criminal enterprises could amplify the radio frequency stimulus and return signals to rip you off at greater ranges than legal chip readers. The bank asserts that it monitors patterns of use on all cards and would contact you if that indicated probable fraud however if traveling would they be able to? I do not like this initiative nor the covert way it is being introduced!
